Why We Built This Site
Louisiana opens a good deal of information to the public, but the record itself is scattered. No single desk holds every answer. The court that signs an order sets the charge and the bond. The Sheriff's Office carries out the order and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant from a missed date may sit with a justice of the peace instead. Louisiana also has no single statewide public warrant database, so every question starts with the office that keeps the file.
Checking one counter, finding nothing, and assuming you are clear is the mistake we see most often. We gather the contacts, search routes, number formats, and request steps for the offices that matter here, so a reader can begin in the right place instead of guessing.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to work through a warrant search by name with the Sheriff's Office and the courts
- Outstanding warrants: what outstanding warrants mean and how the public list is meant to be read
- Missed court dates: how a bench warrant arises and which court ends up holding it
- Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants are issued in St. John the Baptist Parish and who serves them
- Resolving an order: the steps that actually close a case, from calling an attorney to posting bond and asking the court to recall the order
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Louisiana court, the Sheriff's Office, or a state agency. The limits are real:
- We cannot run an official check or confirm that a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant in any system
- We cannot post bond or take a payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-through at a counter
- We cannot give legal advice or say how an order applies to a particular person
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or listing here is current at this moment
Only the issuing court or the Sheriff's division that holds the record can confirm whether an order exists and whether it has been recalled or served. We point you to the office. The answer comes from the office.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes that are run by outside companies. Those companies set their own prices and operate their own services. When a tool leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps the site free to read. We do not control what a partner charges or what its results contain, and partner data is not an official warrant check.
